In the tightly controlled event zone around the Republican National Convention, weapons are a no-no.
At 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies were on foot patrol when they spotted a man
walking in the event zone carrying a full size machete strapped to his leg.
Deputies approached him and ordered him to stop and yet he continued walking away from them.
When deputies caught up to the man, he advised he did not have to stop and that he was allowed to carry what ever he wanted.
When deputies attempt to physically stop him the man began resisting and had had to be physically
restrained. He was arrested and taken to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
